Fall Friday Favorites #9

November 19, 2021

Happy Fall Friday y’all!

It’s almost the end of Fall Fridays, so I’m going to find another topic to post about every week!

This post contains affiliate links. This means that I may make a small commission off of products that are purchased through these links, at no cost to you. You can read more about this process here.

Here are some things I’m loving this week.

Colder Weather

I used to hate the cold. Never liked it. I always said I wanted to move down south to be warm. Not anymore! Maybe this is just part of getting older? I really don’t mind being tucked away in my house with the heat on, covered in heaps of blankets and wool socks. I think it’s part of being a “grown up” and letting go of the heat=summer=no school phenomenon.

Trader Joe’s Sparkling Lemonade

We’re whipping this out for a very special occasion – my baby’s birthday! I love sparkling (non-alcoholic) drinks and this one takes the cake. It’s great on it’s own or watered down with some plain seltzer. I believe every drink should have bubbles and I’m going to need someone to open one of those alcohol-free seltzer bars on Long Island.

My Yeti Tumbler

Even though it was a gift, these bad boys are worth every cent. I have the pink one and it’s like my shadow. It follows me everywhere. Not only does it keep my coffee hot for hours, it can also store a warm bottle (bet you didn’t think of that).

Bar Keeper’s Friend

Can you tell I need more hobbies? I love this stuff. I seriously love it. Thank you r/CleaningTips. It really does it all. I’m a fan of having just a few products to do multiple jobs, and Bar Keeper’s Friend makes the cut. I’ve tried the liquid and the powder, and the latter takes the cake. I implore you to try it. You won’t be disappointed.

Fall Friday Favorites #2

October 1, 2021

Happy October!

Here are some things I’m loving this week!

The Local Library

Baby M and I went to the library this week and sat on the colorful letter rug to do our reading instead of doing it at home. We picked out a bunch of board books for autumn. Just getting a change of scenery and out of the house for half and hour felt like a little adventure. Here’s a list of books for infants and toddlers that are centered around fall!

Mini Pumpkins

Trader Joe’s does it again! These 69 cent pumpkins and gourds are absolutely adorable. One of my favorite parts of autumn is picking out pumpkins for my home. I have a post on how to make your space warm and cozy for fall on a budget here!

Yoga with Kassandra

I started doing yoga over the summer and I’ve finally found a Youtube channel that I like (there are infinite choices). I feel like Kassandra is so gentle and straight forward. Yoga is the first form of exercise that doesn’t trigger my eating disorder. I love how it focuses breath work and meditation and blood flow rather than appearances. The 10 minute flows are super easy to fit into my day. This lady has a yoga routine for everything – bedtime, indigestion, energy – you name it, Kassandra’s got it.

Fall Friday Favorites

September 24, 2021

Happy first fall Friday y’all!

Here are some things I loved this week!

Trader Joe’s Frozen Chicken Pot Stickers

Obsessed with these. We finished two bags this week. The key is to sear them on high heat and give them lots of space in the pan. I tried them with soy sauce and it was definitely too salty. Teriyaki sauce was much tastier.

If I Were an Animal

This is a kids show on Netflix, but it’s absolutely adorable. I was definitely way more into it than Baby M. I hesitate with the live animal shows. 9/10 times you see an animal being eaten, separated from it’s mother, or being trampled. This show is all fluff and cute critters. Will absolutely be watching this instead of Puffin Rock from now on (still love you, Oona and Baba).

Nike Sneakers

I didn’t realize how badly I needed new sneakers until I got new sneakers. Holy crap, my feet feel so much better. Or rather, I don’t notice my feet at all. Before I got a new pair, my feet were so sore at the end of the day. I totally made the rookie mistake of buying WHITE sneakers with a 10 MONTH OLD but I guess I can’t be perfect all the time, right? They already have a nice brown tinge from coffee, oatmeal and spit-up Puffs.

Fall Candles

Love, love, love. I’ve been waiting to bring this bad boy back out. Nothing signifies the change of seasons more concretely than whipping out the assigned scented candle. I have a post here on how to make your house nice and cozy for autumn, on a budget. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Harry Potter Ambience Mixes on Youtube

I can’t get enough. I find these so relaxing and they make me excited for winter! It’s great background noise and most of them are over an hour.
