Dressing a Baby for Thanksgiving
There are a few things to consider when dressing your baby for Thanksgiving, the most important one being comfort. Stay away from scratchy materials like wool and synthetic fabrics. If baby is crawling, make sure they’re able to get around. Same goes for shoes: if they’re walking or wobbling, make sure the shoes you’ve chosen aren’t hindering their sweet little steps.
Another factor to remember is baby temperature and the weather. It’s important to remember that layers are the key to dressing a baby. Thick coats and blankets are tempting in the winter, but they can easily lead to heat stroke for little ones. Layers, layers, layers!
Also, I always choose two outfits: one “fancy” one for pictures and presentation, and one for after dinner.
Remember that one day, they’ll have an opinion and choice on what they wear. Remember to dress them in all the frilly bows and seersucker rompers while you can!
Dressing a Toddler for Thanksgiving
Dressing a toddler might not be as painless as dressing a baby, but there are still so many cute options to choose from!
Consider fabrics when choosing an outfit here, too. Allowing independence and having your toddler choose between two outfits is a fantastic way to give them a say in the matter (while you still win). Something else to remember is potty training and your child’s abilities in that department. That’s why we’re loving some of the retro tees below, a shirt and bottoms combo is usually the easiest for little kids.
Additionally, to dress them for the weather. We go outside in all types of weather, but Thanksgiving isn’t the day to be puddle jumping in the mud.
