How to Build a Portable Breastfeeding Bin

October 11, 2021

Are you planning on breastfeeding your new baby? When I was nearing the end of my pregnancy I put together this portable breastfeeding bin and I’m so grateful I had the foresight to do so!

They say all you need to breastfeed is…breasts. And while that’s 100% true, there are some things that make the process easier.

Here is what I put in my portable breastfeeding bin! I tucked everything into this diaper caddy and kept it near the couch, where I spent the first 3 months of my daughters life breastfeeding and watching Bravo.

Parker Baby Co. Diaper Caddy

Earth Mama Nipple Butter

Disposable Nursing Pads

Reusable Nursing Pads

Breastfeeding Pillow (Boppy)

Chapstick

Snacks (nuts, protein bars,

Water

Wipes and diapers

I also had the following items, for when my baby was asleep next to or on me.

Spectra S2 Breast Pump

Breast Pump Parts (Flanges, Tubing, Duck Bill Valves, Backflow Protectors)

Milk Bags

The last thing I’ll add is this book on nursing. Friends and the internet were my main sources of help when it came to breastfeeding, but The Nursing Mother’s Companion had a lot of great tips in book form!

Be sure to check out my post on my experience with breastfeeding here!

Is there anything else you would recommend to nursing mothers? Was there an item you couldn’t live without while breastfeeding?
Let me know below.
