Autumn 2021 Bucket List

October 8, 2021

There are two things I love in life: autumn and a good list. That’s why I took a moment to write down my autumn bucket list for 2021!

I have been so busy lately and I feel like there isn’t any time left to do all the fall things! Even though the leaves are just starting to change, I feel late.

Since having my daughter, I feel an immense sense of responsibility to celebrate every holiday and make everyday special.

At the end of the day, all my 10 month old really wants is to sit in the backyard with her books and read!

I want to pass on to her some of the wisdom that I’ve learned in my long 27 years. I want her to remember that experiences and being together are way more important than things.

I was in the Target Bullseye section the other day, you know, the one with the $1 and $3 tchochkies and felt like I had to buy her all this crap to celebrate fall.

The girl loves to play with wooden spoons and her carseat manual.

No $3 pumpkin from Target is going to help her appreciate fall.

Taking a fall walk and showing her how to crunch leaves is what she needs to be doing.

So, this year I’m taking the experience route. We’re on our way to checking off our fall list, one by one!

Autumn 2021 Bucket List

  1. Bake a pie
  2. Visit a pumpkin patch
  3. Build a leaf pile
  4. Decorate the front porch with mums
  5. DIY Halloween costumes
  6. Take a scenic drive with this playlist
  7. Drink apple cider
  8. Bake leaf cookies for friends
  9. Take a fall walk
  10. See the harvest moon
  11. Do a fall photoshoot
  12. Make apple crumble

What’s on your autumn bucket list?
Is there anything special that you’ve already done to celebrate the season?

Some blog posts may use affiliate links. This means that I may make a small commission off of products that are purchased through these links, at no cost to you. You can read more about that here.

The leaves start to change and everyone starts to bundle up.

The pumpkin patches pop up and the apple cider comes out.

Autumn on Long Island is absolutely beautiful. There are so fun fall things to do – from apple picking on the East End to crunching leaves in one of the charming small towns.

Given the state of the world, we have been spending a lot of time in our house. This means I want to make it as cozy as possible for the fall! I have my usual decorations that I’ll pull out on September 20th, as well as heading to the nursery to pick out mums and pumpkins.

If you’re in need of more fall decor too, I’ve compiled a list of 10 items you can buy off Amazon for under $10!

Your Essential Autumn Bucket List!

September 22, 2018

My oh my, it’s finally here! My favorite season. Summers have been hot on Long Island recently. Usually by mid August I’m over the beach, bitter about the chafe between my thighs and a little bit crazed from the constant drone of the air conditioner.

Fall is my time. I put on my Ugg boots, my oversized scarf and I dig into my basic-ness. I embrace it now. Fall is the best, but it is fleeting. Before the stress of Christmas shopping, snow plows and the sun setting at 4 pm, this is the magical time, the golden season.

Since my cheesy soul comes out when the first hint of orange hits the trees, I wanted to compile a autumn bucket list. So, here are 30 things to do this fall.

  1. Go pumpkin picking.
  2. Find the freshest apple cider.
  3. Get out of town to see the leaves change.
  4. Make s’mores.
  5. Listen to a fall playlist.
  6. Make chili.
  7. Bring out the scarves and sheepskin boots.
  8. Eat candy corn.
  9. Make a fire.
  10. (Try to) cook a turkey.
  11. Do a fall photo shoot.
  12. Find a good plaid vest.
  13. Find an original halloween costume.
  14. Light fall scented candles.
  15. Experiment with soup recipes.
  16. Take a fall hike.
  17. Buy a fall themed wreath.
  18. Get candy for trick-or-treaters.
  19. Bake pumpkin bread.
  20. Put out fall/halloween decorations.
  21. Meditate while raking leaves (trust me on this one).
  22. Visit a haunted house.
  23. Make marshmallow yams.
  24. Bake a fall flavored pie.
  25. Get lost in a corn maze.
  26. Shamelessly order a Pumpkin Spice Latte.
  27. Carve a pumpkin.
  28. Bake apple cinnamon crisp.
  29. Take photos in the leaves.
  30. Give thanks.

I hope this makes you crave cinnamon and leggings and clever Instagram hashtags. Before you get lost in Thanksgiving festivities and holiday planning, take some time to play in the leaves, or carve a pumpkin. There’s nothing like honoring your inner child as the seasons change.

What’s your favorite season? What are your favorite fall activities? Let me know below!
