Fall Friday Favorites #10

November 26, 2021

Happy Fall Friday!

I hope you had a good Thanksgiving! I know I’m still stuffed from all the food.

Any holiday week is a weird week. The downside to being on a set routine is struggling when one little part of it gets bumped out of place.

Anyways, here are some things I’m loving this week!

Homemade Cranberry Sauce

Ah, the ever-controversial homemade vs. store-bought cranberry sauce debate. I always have been and always will be team homemade. I love making my own cranberry sauce and storing it in the fridge to put on just about anything. I do a bag of cranberries, a cup of sugar and a cup of pulp-free orange juice and just simmer it on the stove! I love homemade cranberry sauce on homemade corn bread.

My Stroller

We were gifted a lovely UppaBaby stroller and it’s worth the price tag. We call it Baby M’s car. I’ve put so much mileage on this thing lately. It’s so smooth and it just has so much room in the undercarriage. It’s truly one of my favorite things!

The Official Christmas Music Season

I’ve been listening to Christmas music since October because who cares about time anymore? Even though I got started very early this year, today is the official start to the Christmas season! I normally would have waited until the day after Thanksgiving to decorate. Now, I can blast my Christmas music without criticism from my husband! My favorite Christmas song is either Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) sung by Darlene Love or Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas by either Frank Sinatra or Judy Garland, I can’t choose!

Scheduling Posts

I love that I can schedule posts here! I try to post every weekday, so having some schedule posts during holiday weeks makes it super easy to hit my blogging goals and take a day off.

This is the last Fall Friday for this year! I’ve really enjoyed posting these as hearing from you guys every week!

Fall Friday Favorites #9

Happy Fall Friday y’all!

It’s almost the end of Fall Fridays, so I’m going to find another topic to post about every week!

This post contains affiliate links. This means that I may make a small commission off of products that are purchased through these links, at no cost to you. You can read more about this process here.

Here are some things I’m loving this week.

Colder Weather

I used to hate the cold. Never liked it. I always said I wanted to move down south to be warm. Not anymore! Maybe this is just part of getting older? I really don’t mind being tucked away in my house with the heat on, covered in heaps of blankets and wool socks. I think it’s part of being a “grown up” and letting go of the heat=summer=no school phenomenon.

Trader Joe’s Sparkling Lemonade

We’re whipping this out for a very special occasion – my baby’s birthday! I love sparkling (non-alcoholic) drinks and this one takes the cake. It’s great on it’s own or watered down with some plain seltzer. I believe every drink should have bubbles and I’m going to need someone to open one of those alcohol-free seltzer bars on Long Island.

My Yeti Tumbler

Even though it was a gift, these bad boys are worth every cent. I have the pink one and it’s like my shadow. It follows me everywhere. Not only does it keep my coffee hot for hours, it can also store a warm bottle (bet you didn’t think of that).

Bar Keeper’s Friend

Can you tell I need more hobbies? I love this stuff. I seriously love it. Thank you r/CleaningTips. It really does it all. I’m a fan of having just a few products to do multiple jobs, and Bar Keeper’s Friend makes the cut. I’ve tried the liquid and the powder, and the latter takes the cake. I implore you to try it. You won’t be disappointed.

Fall Friday Favorites #7

November 5, 2021

Happy Fall Friday!

This week has been flipped upside down because my poor little baby had a cold and wasn’t sleeping well.

I hope everyone had a spooky Halloween and is engaging in the very serious debate over whether or not its too early to decorate for Christmas.

Cafe Bustelo

Praise the coffee gods. Coffee is food group and I will die on this hill. After having a sick baby I’ve been on at least 3 cups a day. I’ll slow down one day, I promise.

Macklemore – Next Year

I’m so happy Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are working together again! This one had such a defined Mack and Ryan feel. I can’t seem to get it out of my head!

Aren’t we all so excited for a new year? 2020 and 2021 have been…you know.

Tofu

I’m so sick of eating chicken. Is anyone else sick of chicken? I’ve been loving tofu lately. I kind of squeeze out the liquid and then heat it up in a pan with teriyaki sauce. It’s such a nice alternative for a meatless meal!

Fall Friday Favorites #5

October 22, 2021

Happy Fall Friday!

What a week. We’ve been out doing fun things in the mornings so it feels like the day doesn’t start until noon.

Baby M is also finally sleeping through the night, which means I’m sleeping through the night and it is remarkable how good I feel.

Here are a few things I loved this week!

Any-Color-But-Orange Pumpkins

Orange pumpkins are out! I love the off white, green, and red pumpkins. I find that the squirrels around here don’t like to eat them as much as they like the big orange ones. I’ve found that the grocery store actually has the best deal – I snagged a few that would’ve cost %50+ more at a pumpkin patch. Shh, don’t tell.

Litchfield County, CT

This week we took a day trip up to Litchfield! We went all over. The leaves were PEAK and it was like being in an autumn snow globe. Baby M loved taking a hike through the mountains and listening to the crunching of the leaves. I love Connecticut and I always feel refreshed after being there.

Aqua Wrap

I love my wrap! It’s cozy and warm without being too heavy. As one of those always-cold-people, it’s a game changer.

Auld Lang Syne

I don’t care that it’s October.

What did you love this week? Is it too early for Auld Lang Syne? Let me know below!

Fall Friday Favorites #3

October 8, 2021

Happy Fall Friday y’all! Here are some things I loved this week!

Have a spectacular weekend, friends!

Pillsbury Pumpkin Rolls

These were amazing. They were also gone by the end of the day. I love pumpkin-flavored-anything as much as the next basic bitch, but I’m wary of anything that tries too hard in the flavor department. These were very subtle with the pumpkin. I baked them in a square Pyrex as opposed to a baking sheet and I will only be cooking rolls that way moving forward.

Chef’s Table on Netflix

I re-watched a lot of season 6 this week. I find this show mesmerizing. I don’t know if it’s the music in the intro or the cinematography, but this show has me hooked. I have all of Sean Brock’s restaurants on my bucket list. Came for the food, stayed for the Vivaldi.

Infant Tylenol

Baby M had her first cold and fever this week and it was rough. The poor thing had a stuffy nose, a fever and was generally miserable. Thank the Lord for infant Tylenol. Her fever was bouncing all over the place so I had no problem giving her medicine this time. You can read more about that here.

Crockpot

It’s Crockpot season, baby! Since I’ve had a sick baby dinner hasn’t been a priority. This week I made meatball subs and turkey chili in the crockpot. I love being able to just dump a bunch of ingredients in one pot and not think about it.
