I’m in love with my cat…

I understand now! I get it! I am entranced by my feline companion. I got her almost a year ago, and she’s made me a happier person. I deeply missed the joys of the family dog once I moved in with my boyfriend. I remember during the first few weeks I’d hear a dog bark and drive 20 minutes back to my parents house in the middle of the night just to see our beloved cockapoo.

Dogs are not for everyone, and at the time, a dog did not fit our lifestyle. We would have felt guilty leaving it alone all the time, and with no fence and busy roads, I would have been overrun with anxiety. So, Luna came into our lives.

IMG_4384I now see why the internet is obsessed! Luna brings so much laughter into our lives. It’s also comforting to have something here in the house with me, as I am home alone quite a bit. I haven’t fully learned the whole behavior aspect yet – I have no idea what she wants when she meows and I don’t understand the “bunting”, but I’m learning!

I love the love Luna continues to deliver!

    1. Great question! She was part of a TNR (trap-neuter-release) program here on Long Island. Feral cats and kittens are humanely trapped, fixed and released back into their environment. The ear is then ‘tipped’ to show animal control that they are fixed and do not need to be picked up. This stops the breeding process while improving the quality of their lives. I rescued Luna when she was about a month and a half. A community member brought her and her sisters to a shelter to receive care, and they were so friendly that they were able to be put up for adoption!
